Job Description
Our client is an international supplier of enrichment services and fuel cycle products for the civil nuclear industry, serving utility customers worldwide who provide low carbon electricity through nuclear generation.  
 
Purpose of the job
  • The role of the Compliance Analyst is to support the Corporate Compliance Manager in effectively managing key corporate compliance risks across the organisation.
  • The role will support the Compliance Manager in ensuring that both new and existing counterparties are subject to appropriate due diligence, both at the point at which they are on boarded and on an ongoing and risk based basis.
  • The role will also support the business in ensuring that the organisation fulfils its obligations with regards to key corporate regulations (including the UK Bribery Act, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Modern Slavery Act). 
  • Assist with developing procedures with regards to reporting key compliance metrics and preparing papers for management meetings and committees (e.g. the Group Audit and Risk  Committee).
  • This role is a full-time, permanent role and requires an individual that is interested in a challenging new opportunity where they will be able to utilise and develop analytical and investigative skills. 
 
Main responsibilities
  • Conduct due diligence using various third party and internal databases. This includes ascertaining the nature of an entity's role in a transaction and producing corporate trees to ascertain beneficial ownership and subsidiary holdings.
  • Responsibility for developing, deploying and supporting the execution of group-wide computer-based compliance training
  • Review and ensure compliance policies and procedures comply with applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Assist in drafting and documenting procedures, policies and processes as necessary
  • Assisting with all compliance matters and day to day administrative tasks
  • Monitoring compliance alerts as issued by their compliance monitoring tools and databases on a daily basis
  • Reviewing regulatory and commercial developments and providing updates to the Corporate Compliance Manager.
Qualifications
  • The successful candidate should ideally hold a Legal or Business degree although other disciplines will be considered. 
  • Hold or working towards an appropriate compliance qualifications
  • Knowledge of energy markets is beneficial but not essential. 
    Recent Graduate or; 3-5 years’ compliance experience within the financial, energy or insurance sector.  
  • Highly analytical and capable of making data led recommendations. 
  • An inherent interest in problem solving and an ability to assimilate data from multiple, and often contradictory, sources in order to formulate a clear hypothesis.
  • While capable of working collaboratively the post hold must be comfortable and able to drive assignments autonomously and interact confidently with senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with other teams.
  • Ability to follow procedures, maintain quality standards, understand regulatory requirements and adhere to appropriate controls. 
  • Competent MS Office user, including Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
  • Experience of SAP or other ERP systems desirable.
  • Effectively utilise research applications such as Lexis Diligence, Orbis, World Check and Dun & Bradstreet
  • Excellent organisational skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Can confidently and clearly explain problems and issues and contribute to their resolution. 
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel with tact and diplomacy. 
  • Proven analytical, planning, problem solving and decision making skills. 
  • Motivation and ability to take ownership of, and responsibility for, own workload
